A Look in the Classroom

 

1. ELA: We will reviewing the concepts we have learned this quarter in grammar. Over the course of week we will go over nouns, common/proper nouns, singular/plural nouns and action verbs. Will will finish our study of sequence writing by reading "The Tiger, The Brahman, and The Jackal," an Indian folktale, and sequencing the story. We will be analyzing stories by finding the problem and solution. 

2. History: We will end our Ancient India unit with lessons in Jataka Tales and King Asoka. We will have a review day and take the test on Friday.

3. Science: In Science we will take some time to discuss the lives of important figures in the world of Science. We will talk about Florence Nightingale and Daniel Hale Williams.

4. Math Objectives- Finish unit 3 Friday 

-Review measuring length: centimeters and meters

-Measure curved lengths using string 

-Measure with a measuring tape 

-Use a ruler to draw lines of given lengths 

-Estimate and measure length to the nearest yard or foot

-Compare a meter to a yard

-Compare a foot to a yard 

-Estimate and measure length to the nearest inch. 

-Compare an inch to a foot.

-Compare an inch to a centimeter

-Review place-value concepts

-Review addition and subtraction within 1,000
