Volunteer!
We are seeking parent support for our library time: Mondays from 12:20-12:45

Here is an opportunity to help our class without a huge time commitment! We need a parent volunteer to aid during our library time which is from 12:20- 12:25 on Mondays. You can help any capacity that you feel comfortable with...
* Read a book to the class
* Assist scholars looking for books
* Check books in and out of the computer system

You do need to be fingerprinted to assist in this capacity. It's not required, but if you would like a quick training on the layout of the library, how to search for books or how to check books in and out of the computer you can contact Shannon Lee at library@archwaylincoln.org.

To sign up, just click the following link: https://signup.com/client/invitation2/secure/2199011/true#/invitation

Our Westward Expansion Day is Wednesday, March 28.

This is a super fun event that celebrates all we've learned in History class about the Western Expansion of the United States. The children will rotate through multiple activity stations (e.g., Pioneer Games, Pony Express Delivery, Panning for "Gold", The Chuckwagon). Because this is a grade level event we have a huge need for volunteers for this event. Mrs. Staedicke will be sending out a sign-up for this event in the next few days, so please keep an eye out for it! I will also send out the link.  Thank you in advance for your continued support of our events--this is a fun one, and very memorable for the kiddos!

Second Grade Community Service Project: The Walk for Juvenile Diabetes Research, April 28th, Sloan Park, Mesa
Team Name: Eliana's Eradicators
As many of you know, earlier this year our classmate, Eliana Lee was unexpectedly diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. She and her family have been working hard to help her adjust to this diagnosis and remain the smart, kind and funny girl she is.  In honor of her, and all kids who have diabetes, the second grade teachers have decided that our grade level community service project will be to participate in the "Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation One Walk". This is a 5K walk through Sloan park in Mesa on Saturday, April 28 to raise money for research to eliminate Type 1 diabetes. I plan on being there as part of Eliana's Eradicators and hope you can join me and the Lee family for a fun walk for a great cause.  The link to register is above.  Hope to see you!
